Experts ans researchers said: "We analyzed 72 primate sequences and 53 of these came from the genus Trachypithecus to which this new species belongs. It was after combining the results of sequencing the museum samples, fecal samples from wild-collected populations and a review of the museum samples that we were able to conclude that we were working with a new species."
